GOOGLE Earth claims to have most of the planet all mapped out - but there are plenty of images caught on its cameras which just defy any explanation.

These eerie discoveries have sparked dozens of conspiracy theories, with some saying they show "evidence" of UFO landing sites, ancient lost cities and even giant spiders.

Now a video posted on YouTube by The Secure Team claims to have found the most mysterious photographs ever captured from the edge of space.

The footage - which has already been viewed tens of thousands times - has pinpointed the strangest sights captured by Google.

They include supposed images of a UFO,  a giant river creature and massive undiscovered pyramids.

But sometimes there is a simple - and very disappointing - explanation.

An infamous  picture of a massive pentagram etched into the ground of an archaeological ruin in Kazakhstan prompted countless conspiracy theories.

But one expert later revealed it had been formed by Soviet Union members who used to use the area as a camping ground
